True Religion Hires Licensing Agent

Los Angeles–based premium denim maker, True Religion Apparel Inc., is well on its way to becoming a lifestyle brand.

Last year, the publicly traded company opened a flagship store in Manhattan Beach, Calif., where sales of True Religion apparel reached $500,000 in the first three months.

Now, the company has taken steps to further develop the brand into a lifestyle collection. Effective June 5, New York–based InGroup Licensing became the company’s sole licensing agent. A full-service licensing company that specializes in fashion and lifestyle brand extensions, In- Group’s clients include youth apparel brand Mudd, junior contemporary brand Kenzie and contemporary label Mac & Jak.

“Licensing is a key ingredient in accomplishing our mission of building True Religion into a global premium lifestyle brand hellip; and we only wanted the best licensing company to manage our licensing program,” said Jeff Lubell, True Religion’s chairman and chief executive.
