Fashion, Art, Music Focus of Alternative Fashion Week Event

In its eighth installment, Sew Down, the biannual runway show and marketplace, is back with a new cast of designers. Billed as the alternative fashion week event, the March 24 show at Ren-Mar Studios in Hollywood will feature 15 up-and-coming designers. Set to show their Fall 2006 designs are B Rude by Boy George, Atousa G., Chicaboom, Heartbeat, Defile, Uccle, Juliana K., Ramona and Beth.

In addition to giving non-mainstream designers a venue for their fashion, the event allows designers and vendors to sell their goods—from apparel to jewelry, music and art—at wholesale and sample prices. Attendees, which will include buyers, press and the public, will be treated to music by KCRW taste-making disc jockey Liza Richardson and others.

“There’s a little something for everyone,” said Atousa G., the event’s organizer and designer of the Atousa G. line.
