Chloe to Bow at South Coast Plaza

French fashion house Chloe picked the South Coast Plaza shopping center as the site for its second American boutique. It opened March 22.

The 2,500-square-foot boutique represents the brand that employed Karl Lagerfeld as head designer in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The boutique carries Chloe’s Spring and Summer 2006 runway fashions. Chloe opened its first American store in New York City more than seven years ago.

Chloe happens to be just one of seven fashion stores debuting in the Costa Mesa, Calif.–based South Coast Plaza in 2006. Theory will open its first West Coast store at the luxury shopping center in July. British fashion label Ted Baker will open a South Coast Plaza store in May. The company also maintains stores in San Francisco and on Los Angeles’ Robertson Boulevard.

Sandpoint, Idaho–based Coldwater Creek will open a 5,151-square-foot boutique in South Coast Plaza in April. The Costa Mesa location will be the company’s 20th boutique in California.

The shopping center also will be the site of Spain’s version of fast fashion. Barcelona-based Mango will open MNG by Mango in May 2006.

The 5,737-square-foot store will feature trendy, of-the-moment fashions for men and women.

Caroline Herrera’s ready-to-wear brand, CH Caroline Herrera, will open a boutique at South Coast Plaza in August. Herrera’s concept opened at Las Vegas’ The Forum Shops at Caesars and The Americana Manhasset shopping center in Manhasset, N.Y. English beauty boutique Jo Malone London also will open a store at the Costa Mesa shopping center in fall 2006. —Andrew Asch
