Los Angeles Fashion Week Fall '06: Desanka
A suite at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills March 23 provided an elegant setting for the Desanka Fall ’06 preview party.
Desanka designer Desa Fasiska showed a portion of her 3-year-old Los Angeles-based collection, which included draped and layered dresses with delicate details like the tiny tucking along a curved pocket or a hint of lace along a neckline.
Dresses were softly draped in slip and blouson shapes. For one dress, Fasiska mixed neutral-shade stripes and polka dots for an updated take on a vintage look. Another dress was topped with a crisp trench coat softened with a girlish puffed sleeve. A printed surplice dress had elaborate beading at the shoulders and belt.
Fasiska opted for a gallery setting, arranging her models on columns along the wall of the suite as guests—including actors Cuba Gooding Jr., Jeremy Piven and Lara Flynn Boyle—navigated the room.
Corzo Tequila was a sponsor of the fashion event, which was hosted by a bevy of film and music industry names, including Katie and Todd Traina, Vanessa Carlton, Stephan Jenkins and Zoe Winkler. —Alison A. Nieder
