Project Angel Food to Hold Auction

The entertainment industry is lending a hand to Project Angel Food with a benefit auction, “Hollywood 100,” June 17 at Bonhams & Butterfields in Los Angeles.

The auction will feature 100 lots donated from the Hollywood community with designer clothing, film and television costumes, film and television props, and an assortment of insider entertainment industry experiences.

Project Angel Food, a non-profit organization, delivers free meals to more than 1,200 men, women and children who have been diagnosed with life-threatening diseases such as HIV/AIDS, cancer or diabetes.

Fashion designers Carlos Miele and Donna Karan donated dresses with a celebrity twist from their collections. Miele donated a duplicate of a dress that Christina Aguilera wore to an event at Harrods in London. One of Karan’s two donated dresses is a duplicate of a dress worn by Debra Messing. The other was worn by Susan Sarandon at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards in 2004.

An orange vest designed by Jean Paul Gaultier and worn by Bruce Willis in the film “The Fifth Element” is among the assortment of Hollywood memorabilia on the auction block. Wardrobe from the television show “Will & Grace” was donated by NBC.

Insider Hollywood experiences up for auction include two VIP passes to The Weinstein Cos.Golden Globe Awards kick-off party in 2007 and a visit with set designer Tom Fichter on the set of the TV show “The O.C.” More auction items will be confirmed closer to the event.

Bidding will be conducted at Bonhams & Butterfields, as well as online at eBay’s live-auction Web site. During the last Hollywood 100 auction in 2004, a visit and lunch with Tom Cruise on the movie set of “Mission: Impossible III” fetched $20,000 from an eBay bidder in London.
