BeBop, Cotton Among Webby Winners

Web sites for Cotton Inc. and BeBop Jeans are among the winners of the 10th annual Webby Awards, which will be presented June 12 at an event in New York.

Los Angeles–based BeBop won for Best Use of Animation or Motion Graphics for its bebopjeans.com site, which features lighthearted retro graphics with blooming flowers and rainbows. BeBop and Los Angeles–based WhiteNoise.net developed the site.

“[The site’s] whimsical graphics and easily navigable properties . . . encourage [our customers] to navigate further through the magical journeys of the BeBop Web site,” said Michael Weisberg, chief executive officer of Second Generation Apparel, BeBop’s parent company.

New York–based Cotton Inc. won in the Best Association category for its team-cotton.com site, which covers fashion forecasting, research and development. Cotton Inc. and Velocity Inc. developed the site. It features profiles of Cotton’s research team, who, as animated characters, provide information on all aspects of cotton production.

The awards are produced by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, an organization comprised of industry leaders, including Max Azria of BCBG, singer David Bowie and Internet inventor Vinton Cerf.
