Quiksilver and Roxy previewed their 2007/2008 his and her’s outerwear collections Nov. 8 at the Quiksilver Inc. headquarters in Huntington Beach, Calif.

A crowd of 200 industry professionals and buyers toasted the cool snowboarding duds with cocktails and appetizers. Raffle winners took home lift tickets, skis, snowboards, outerwear and vacation packages.

Roxy showed all-over camouflage-print jackets and snow pants for girls and juniors in feminine shades of lavender and sage. For the snow bunnies, Roxy showed a belted white overall with a shearling trim. Pink puffer jackets featured a delicate all-over plaid or oversize floral prints. Layering pieces included cable-knit sweaters and striped Capri-length thermal sets. The collection is divided into heavy-weather, endurance and limited-edition categories.

Quiksilver’s outerwear for men had a street sensibility with plenty of hoodies in technical fabrics and slouchy snow pants. Colors ranged from muted earth tones in slate and brown to bright red and black-and-white plaid. Specialty fabrics and prints added visual interest to the men’s technical gear. A yarn-dyed plaid looked like wool, and raised pin stripes added texture. Camouflage prints, stripes and art prints in the outerwear line were inspired by Quiksilver’s boardshorts. —Erin Barajas
