Disappearing Ghost

The new owners of London-based Ghost, the contemporary label founded in 1984 by British designer Tanya Sarne, are planning to close its Los Angeles store on Robertson Boulevard, as well as its New York store, early next year. The company, now owned by British retail entrepreneur Kevin Stanford and the Icelandic investment group Arev Management, said it was streamlining its business by shuttering stand-alone stores and closing wholesale distribution worldwide. The new focus is on building the company’s boutique business and broadening its retail expansion in Britain by lowering price points.
