San Francisco Fashion Week '06: Pink Elf

Designer Kaushie Adiseshan had style and subtle elegance in mind when she developed her Spring 2007 collection, but she didn’t skimp on color and glamour. Adiseshan, whose roots are in Bombay, India, tried to create distinctive fashions for urban professionals. Her colors were rich with deep wine reds and vivid greens. A touch of the exotic was seen in a gold-fitted dress, a gold bias-cut tunic and a metallic Vneck top that glittered on the runway. Her silhouettes were clean and simple in her kimono dresses, circle skirts and classic trench coats.

“My inspiration for color comes from Bombay, and the styles and silhouettes are inspired by New York. And the easy look of the styles comes from San Francisco,” said the designer, who has studied at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in San Francisco. “I was trying to convey easy glamour. You don’t have to do too much or work too hard to still look good.”
