Heat (Presented by WWDMAGIC and ISAM)

The latest looks to be shown off by the pool and on the beach were on the runway at “Heat (Presented by WWDMAGIC and ISAM) Swimwear Collections Spring 2007” during the Aug. 28–31 run of the MAGIC Marketplace and ISAM (the International Swimwear/Activewear Market) at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The show opened with an upscale group in black-and-white. Suits had sexy details such as one-pieces that plunged deep and had cut-out sides. Short, European-style trunks with sporty side stripes were a key style for men. The sweet and girly side of swim was punctuated by flirty skirted bottoms and ruffles in vibrant floral prints, plaids and gingham prints. Knee-length boardshorts in pink gingham and green plaid for him were classically preppy. Swimwear in hues of magenta, watermelon and fuchsia pink was jazzed up with flashes of sparkle accents, such as metallic prints, jeweled trim and sequin embellishment. Another hot color for Spring was olive green, shown solid and in palm leaf, jungle and floral prints for plunging one-pieces, classic bikinis and tankinis. The nautical trend continued to be strong in swimwear, with navy-and-white-striped bikinis and maillots that had a sporty slant through vintage one-pieces and rope trim for women and lifeguard red trunks for men. Multicolored stripes with green and yellow thrown in the mix of red, white and blue updated the look. Swim took a walk on the wild side with a safari of animal prints—tiger, giraffe, leopard and snakeskin— for sexy cut-out maillots, string bikinis and revealing one-piece halters that had an overall luxe look paired with chubby fur shawls.
