President Signs Cargo Bill
On Aug. 3, President Bush signed a law that will require 100 percent inspection of all cargo bound for the United States before it is loaded onto container ship. The new requirements are part of the government’s homeland-security measures. The law gives importers and shippers five years to ramp up to full compliance.
