Veltex to Sponsor Celebrity Golf Event

The City of Industry, Calif.–based Veltex Corp. will sponsor the America’s Baby Cancer Foundation’s annual Heroes Tour Celebrity golf tournament Oct. 15 at the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

Veltex Chief Executive Officer Javeed A. Matin sits on ABCF’s board of directors.

Veltex is a vertical manufacturer of branded and private-label and imprinted apparel and headwear.

Proceeds will fund the medical and personal needs of young cancer patients and their families as well as projects such as UCLA’s experimental brain-cancer vaccine program.

The event will include golf and tennis, followed at 4:30 p.m. by a cocktail reception and charity dinner with auction to benefit America’s Baby Cancer Foundation’s assistance to families that have children diagnosed with cancer.

Celebrities attending will include NFL and MLB greats such as Ben Davidson, Fred Williamson and Jose Canseco; NASCAR driver Felix Giles; and Kenny Sargent and Crash Gladys, stars of the Sirius Satellite radio show “SpeedFreaks.”
