Coggin Retires From Saks

James A. Coggin, president and chief administrative officer of Saks Inc., will retire in May, according to the company. Coggin has held many executive positions with the New York–based retailer. He got his start in 1971 for the department store McRae’s Inc., which was acquired by Saks in 1994. The company also promoted several executives, including Ron Frasch, who was promoted to president and chief merchandising officer; Carolyn Biggs, who was promoted to executive vice president for stores, store visual planning and construction; Denise Incandela, who was promoted to president, Saks Direct and group senior vice president; and Robert Wallstrom, senior vice president and general manager of the Saks Fifth Avenue flagship store in New York City, who was promoted to president, Off 5th and group senior vice president. In addition, Suzanne Johnson was promoted to group senior vice president and general manager of the New York City flagship SFA store; Joseph Boitano was named general merchandise manager and group senior vice president for women’s ready-to-wear; Jennifer de Winter was named general merchandise manager and group senior vice president for shoes, handbags and fine jewelry; and Marc Metrick was named group senior vice president and chief strategy officer.
