Milliken's Latest Targets Hunters

Spartanburg, S.C.–based textile mill Milliken launched a new smart-fabric technology designed for hunting apparel and big-game hunters.

Milliken’s VisaEndurance Scent Control System is designed for both the inner and outer layer of hunting apparel.

VisaEndurance incorporates a silver ion–based anti-microbial technology that prohibits odor-causing bacteria from forming on the inner-layer garment and an odor-absorbing polymer technology for the outer-layer garment. Together, the two technologies limit the wearer’s scent.

VisaEndurance is durable and long-lasting. The company found that the product continued to demonstrate a 99.9 percent bacteria reduction after 50 home washes. Fabrics made from VisaEndurance have moisture-management properties, regulate body temperatures and are lightweight. Fabrics available with the new technology include lightweight polyester knits for under layers and mid-layers and woven compressionfit fabrics for outerwear.

Milliken introduced the new technology at the 2007 Shooting, Hunting and Outdoors Trade Show & Convention in Orlando, Fla., last month.
