Paxar, NGC Form Marketing Alliance

Miami-based software developer New Generation Computing has teamed with White Plains, N.Y.–based tags-and-labels producer Paxar Corp. to integrate each other’s product lines and form an entity to address intellectual property, product development and shipping concerns for the apparel industry.

NGC markets software that manages product development, sourcing and shipping. Paxar makes tags and labels and distributes printers, software and other hardware systems.

“For our mutual customers, this alliance will provide a simpler, easier-to-use capability by leveraging the strengths of our respective systems,” said Steve Babat, Paxar’s vice president and chief information officer. “Apparel manufacturers will find advantages in managing and ordering identification products, while brands and retailers will benefit from increased brand protection and supply-chain visibility.”

Added Alan Brooks, NGC’s president: “The alliance between NGC and Paxar expands both companies’ product offerings while delivering significant benefits to our customers. Together we are bringing a new level of efficiency, ease of use and visibility to production, packaging and logistics.” —Robert McAllister
