Stokes to Debut Line at MAGIC
Los Angeles–based writer/director Christopher Stokes will debut his new menswear line, Christopher Brian Apparel, at the MAGIC Marketplace Feb. 13–16 in Las Vegas.
Stokes described the entry as a cross between Ralph Lauren and Dolce & Gabbana. The line will include some women’s pieces, as well.
“I feel like this line will be the most innovative streetwear line because it is starting with a broader fashion base. It’s not just urban. It’s a line for everyone,” he said.
The line will consist of traditional streetwear pieces such as denim; hoodies; shirts; and outerwear made with cashmere, leather and other high-grade materials. First deliveries will take place this fall.
Stokes plans to add an accessories line in 2008 featuring backpacks, bags and footwear designed by stylist Kim Kardashian, who will also be a model for the company’s ad campaign.
This is Stokes’ first venture into fashion. He is better known for managing musical acts—including Brandy and Omarion—and making movies, including 2004’s “You Got Served.” His new film, “Somebody Help Me,” will debut in theaters March 16.
