Becca by Rebecca Virtue Swim Spring '08

Becca designer Rebecca Virtue brought easy glamour to the runway during her July 13 runway show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Miami Swim at The Raleigh hotel in Miami Beach on July 13.The collection, named “Art of Swim,” drew inspiration from the modern art of the 1960s. Color-blocking, retro prints and metallics brought elements of modern art to the catwalk. Romantic looks, a staple of the Anaheim, Calif.–based Becca label, were also in full force, with flowing robes, sultry back details and lingerie-inspired ruffles. Colors ranged from bright pink and orange to lime, “Wonder Woman” red and deepest sapphire.

Coverup styles for Becca’s 2008 collection were easy and functional. A wide-leg, banded jersey pant could go from pool lounging to errand-running without skipping a beat. A button-up blouse trimmed in white eyelet coordinated with a flirty bikini but is office-perfect if paired with trousers. —Erin Barajas
