DE et DR Don Eduardo et Donna Rosalia Swim Spring '08

London-based swim and resortwear designer Deborah Martinelli Bonavia made her stateside runway debut July 12 at The Raleigh hotel for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Miami Swim in Miami Beach. The line, DE et DR Don Eduardo et Donna Rosalia, launched in 2006 and was named after her great-grandparents. Easily one of the most comprehensive lines on the catwalk, DE et DR showed everything from sporty suits perfect for lap swimming to evening gowns for opening night at the theater. Grouped by color themes, DE et DR’s offerings included men’s boardshorts and children’s swimwear and coverups. Classic bikinis in bright solids, including yellow, red and blue, shared the catwalk with a bevy of subtly sexy suits in neutral, earthy hues. Coverups ranged from tunics and wrap skirts to halter dresses and tap shorts. Standouts included a collection of demure black suits and dresses inspired by the iconic film “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” —Erin Barajas
