Miss Bikini Swim Spring '08
Milan-based Miss Bikini joined the line-up of international designers to debut at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Miami Swim. Although the collection has been introduced to the U.S. market in prior seasons, July 14 was its official U.S. runway debut. The collection, designed by sisters Alessandra Piacentini and Francesca Piacentini, was sexy and vibrant with Afro pop–inspired colorful prints. Chic ethnic patterns mixed with animal prints and geometric graphics for an eclectic look perfect for any exotic resort locale. Beading and sequins added a luxurious touch to sexy bikinis, coverups and coordinating bags. Standouts included a graphic-print bikini paired with floaty silk chiffon coverup, a sexy monokini with a beaded and sequined midriff, and a lavender chiffon dress with multi-color tiered ruffles. —N.
