CMC Inks Deal for Jewelry Expo

The California Market Center has struck a deal with trade-show producer Golden Triangle Shows to bring a new biannual jewelry show to Los Angeles.

The L.A. Jewelers Expo will bow in 2008 and run twice a year in January and July, running concurrently with the gift markets in Los Angeles.

Golden Triangle Group has been in the jewelry–trade show business since 2000 and produces jewelry shows in Greensboro, N.C., and in Orlando, Fla.

“Our wholesale-only expos in North Carolina and Florida have become thousands of buyers’ favorite venue to purchase product and keep in touch with the latest ideas and styles,” said Bobby Siddiqui, GTS show director.

Siddiqui said the show will feature a wide range of product, including beaded jewelry, better accessories, fine jewelry, fine and fashion watches, and handbags. Siddiqui said he expects to have 200 exhibitors at the debut show.

“The L.A. Jewelers Expo will definitely have a West Coast flair, but vendors will be coming from all parts of the country,” he said. “Not every one can travel to New York for the major markets, so we are bringing these better manufacturers to them.”

The immediate-delivery show will feature buyer amenities including complimentary buyers’ breakfasts and free educational seminars.

The first L.A. Jewelers Expo will be held Jan. 18–20. The July dates have not been set. For more information, visit www.gtshows.com or call (770) 410-9771.—Alison A. Nieder
