Anand Jon Pleads Not Guilty to New Counts

Designer Anand Jon pleaded not guilty to 13 new charges of sexual assault on June 12 in Los Angeles Superior Court.

The plea came shortly after the Los Angeles County District Attorney received complaints from six more women, claiming that Jon sexually assaulted them. In all, 18 female victims have filed complaints. The designer now faces more than 40 felony and misdemeanor counts, including rape, sexual battery and committing a lewd act on a child. Some of the alleged victims were under the age of 18.

Jon pleaded not guilty to all previous counts. Prosecutors said he could face life in prison if convicted. He is free on bail after being arrested in March during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios in Los Angeles, where he was to show his new denim line.—Robert McAllister
