Baltazar Joins Komarov, Martinoff at Kisca

Komarov, the Los Angeles–based contemporary line known for its trademark pleated fabrication, and Kisca, its more street-savvy sister line, both have new designers at the helm.

Designer Mario Baltazar, formerly of Los Angeles dress line Single, joined Komarov in June. Baltazar will work with founder Shelley Komarov, who retains creative control over the brand.

In May, former Rock & Republic designer Frank Martinoff joined Kisca to relaunch and revamp the line. Martinoff will focus on strengthening Kisca’s sportswear offerings.

Komarov was founded in 1997 and retails from $130 to $300 in approximately 1,200 stores nationwide. Kisca sells long-sleeve T-shirts and hoodies for $78 to $84. —Erin Barajas
