BOXeight Stages Fashion Week Shows

Peter Eaton Gurnz, founder of the BOXeight arts community, announced the lineup for his debut series of fashion shows, set for March 16–17 at the historic Los Angeles Theatre in downtown Los Angeles.

Some designers scheduled to show include Eduardo Lucero, Black Chandelier by Jared Gold, Kristen Coates, Kit Pistol, Eddie Debarr, Claire La Faye, Adele Mildred Posso and Goddallars.

Gurnz orchestrated the fashion event with the help of downtown community leaders such as Brady Westwater of the Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council, Gary Warfel of the real estate developer Titan Organization and owner of the Grand Avenue Club, and Michael Delijani, owner of the Los Angeles Theatre.

As a spokesperson for BOXeight—a community of work and exhibition space for artists in downtown Los Angeles—Gurnz started talking with local leaders and real estate figures who shared the same goal of energizing the arts scene downtown with art, music and fashion entertainment.

“It’s my job to create opportunity for the artists,” said Gurnz, adding that the fashion event is part of the city’s ongoing larger-scale plan to boost the arts and entertainment offerings downtown. “We want to become the face of emerging talent.”

The runway shows will be held in the grand ballroom of the Los Angeles Theatre, at 615 S. Broadway, and BOXeight’s artists will create fashion-themed pieces to be on display at the event.

The bands Burn Proper, Berko, Suicide Club and Dangerous Muse will perform in the main auditorium after the fashion shows.
