Blue Holdings Hires Sales Chief

The Los Angeles–based and publicly traded Blue Holdings has hired Scott J. Drake as its new president of sales and chief operating officer, effective immediately. The company, which makes Antik Denim, Yanuk, Taverniti So Jeans, Life and Death and Faith jeans and apparel, has been without a sales chief since Rick Spielberg left the company last year.

Drake, most recently the president of apparel manufacturer Visual Concept Image, also headed up sales, marketing and production for all of Blue Holdings’ competitor Blue Pen brands, including Blue Cult, Sacred Blue and Blue 2.

“We are pleased to have him join our sales team as we look to accelerate our growth as he focuses on strengthening the operational aspect of that business,” said Paul Guez, Blue Holdings’ chief executive, in a statement.

At press time, Blue Holdings’ stock was trading at $1.60 per share. The company will announce its 2006 year-end results on March 30.—Erin Barajas
