Mandy Moore to Appear at FIG Dallas Market

Mandy Moore is very busy these days, but she does have enough time to visit the Dallas-based Fashion Industry Gallery Fall/Winter market June 2 to promote her Los Angeles–based line, Mblem.

The 23-year-old singer/actress has a new album called “Wild Hope” hitting stores June 19 and also has three movies in production this year. These projects will give her plenty of opportunities to wear and promote Mblem, which has taken a 360-degree turn since it launched last spring.

Los Angeles–based VCI Inc. last month took over sales and design. Patty Park is managing sales, and Christopher Boyle is leading the design effort. Boyle said the label is vastly different from the vintage-inspired T-shirts it started out with.

“It’s taken on a more contemporary focus. It’s nothing like it used to be,” said Boyle. The Fall line, which will begin deliveries Aug. 30, features 1960s and 1970s retro influences in items such as micro-Modal jerseys as well as French terry and Pima cotton pieces.

Boyle said the new look has met Moore’s approval and is ready to meet retailers’ discerning eyes.

Moore will meet and greet buyers during FIG’s kickoff party, where she will be interviewed by local television personalities and show some of the new goods.
