Knock-Off Victory

The North Face, which makes rugged outdoorwear for sports enthusiasts, won a counterfeit case in China after it filed a lawsuit against The Beijing Xiushui Clothing Co., a five-story clothing market that sells apparel mostly to tourists. Last year, after the U.S. company found a number of North Face knockoffs in the market, it took Xiushui to court, asking for $66,900 in compensation. North Face won its case but only got $5,330.
