TALA Holiday Party Set for Dec. 19

The Textile Association of Los Angeles will host its 64th annual holiday party for local children on Dec. 19 on the 11th floor of the Cooper Design Space in downtown Los Angeles.

Organizers are expecting more than 100 children ranging in age from 4 to 12 years old from the Eastside Boys and Girls Club, the Salvation Army Red Shield Community Center, the Salesian Boys and Girls Club and the Boys and Girls Club of East Los Angeles as guests at the party.

Los Angeles Councilmember Ed Reyes has arranged buses to bring the children to the party.

The party has been made possible by donations from TALA members and others in the apparel industry. Food will be provided by Trimana, Summit Catering and TALA members. Toys have been donated by California Market Center tenant Mickey Lang, president of gift showroom CMA.

“When you talk about kids, people step up,” said TALA member Hal Kaltman, who is co-chairing the event with Fran Sude.

The party will begin at 4 p.m. For more information, contact the TALA office at (213) 627-6173. —Alison A. Nieder
