Hi-Yo, Silver

Bob McKnight is back in the saddle at Quiksilver Inc., a surfwear, sportswear and equipment company based in Huntington Beach, Calif. The apparel executive, who was the company’s president until 2001, will take over again as president, adding to his titles of chairman and chief executive. He fills the position held for seven years by Bernard Mariette, who is leaving to consider acquiring the company’s Rossignol group, which is up for acquisition after taxing the company’s financial performance. Quiksilver has been going through some tough times lately. It has lost money during the last three quarters and isn’t expecting a winning report for its fourth quarter. McKnight will concentrate on growing the company’s core brands of Quiksilver, Roxy and DC.
