Michael Kors Gets PLM From MatrixOne

Michael Kors is jumping on the PLM bandwagon. The American design house has contracted Enovia MatrixOne to install its Apparel Accelerator design and development PLM (product lifecycle management) application to support Kors’ aggressive growth plans.

The system is expected to be implemented by spring. It features tools to help streamline processes such as bill of materials, grade rules, costing, line plans, tech packs and images.

It should help Kors’ impending plans to open more stores and introduce new product lines across various categories, from fragrances to home furnishings, said Gia Castrogiovanni, president of Michael Kors’ women’s division.

“From a business perspective, it was strategically important for us to find a PLM solution that could be implemented quickly, provide an open platform that could interact with other applications and, ultimately, scale to meet future demands,” she said.

Enovia MatrixOne is a division of Paris-based Dassault Systegrave;mes, which has more than 100,000 customers in 80 countries. For more information, visit www.3ds.com. —Robert McAllister
