New HQs for Affliction, Famous Stars & Straps

Two streetwear brands are moving on up to larger, newer facilities to house their growing businesses.

Signal Hill, Calif.–based Affliction LLC, a maker of graphic tees and accessories, will move in August to the Pacific Gateway Business Center, located a few miles south in the city of Seal Beach, while Ontario, Calif.–based Famous Stars & Straps, the streetwear line founded by rocker Travis Barker, has purchased a 57,000-square-foot warehouse in Ontario, Calif.

Affliction will move about 70 workers to the Seal Beach building, which it purchased for an estimated $10 million, according to Gardena, Calif.–based real estate developer Overton Moore Properties. The new facility will house all design, sales and marketing activities for Affliction. It will also contain some warehouse space. The company also plans to convert its current facility into warehouse space.

Vice President Tom Atencio said the move is being made to accommodate growth for the company’s lines, which include Affliction, Sinful women’s clothing, Heroes & Demons and 925 Jewelry.

The company originally was launched as a graphic-services company in Santa Ana, Calif., providing designs for surfwear brands, including Rusty, Sole Technology Inc. and Ocean Pacific. It is owned by Atencio, Todd Beard, Clifton Chason and Eric Foss.

Famous Stars & Straps’ parent company, Woofa LLC, paid about $6.5 million, or $116 per square foot, for its new headquarters and distribution facility in the new Greystone Industrial Park, located off of Interstate 60 and Milliken Avenue.

The building features full concrete truck courts and state-of-the-art lighting and fire sprinkler systems as well as four-ply built-up roofs and six-inch concrete floor slabs.
