Nicola Bertti Diversifies and Expands Its Retail

Contemporary lifestyle brand Nicola Bertti is on the move.

After the brand opened a Beverly Hills store in August 2007, co-owner Sai Abraham said his company would open at least two more stores in Los Angeles in November.

In the next few months, the new boutiques will move into the Westfield Fashion Square mall in Sherman Oaks and the Westfield Topanga retail center in Canoga Park. The family also plans to open a store in the Century City area of Los Angeles some time this fall.

The goal is to open 10 more Nicola Bertti stores across the United States in the next five years.

Retail expansion is the latest change in the Nicola Bertti story. Founded in 1993 by the Abraham family as a leather-goods brand, Sai and his brother Ronni Abraham, and Ronni’s wife, Hadari, took the reins of the company in 2006 and are changing its direction. They have recast it as a young contemporary brand for men and women. Retail price points range from $50 for a T-shirt to $300 for a jacket. The brand also offers handbags and shoes.

Sai Abraham is diversifying his three-story, 3,500-square-foot Beverly Hills boutique at 9467 S. Santa Monica Blvd. The top two stories will be devoted to the Nicola Bertti brand, with plans to develop new sportswear lines.

The basement will become a spa and a salon, which will be called Nicola Bertti Beauteacute;. It is scheduled to debut in September. —Andrew Asch
