Zenker Joins On Sunset
After spending less than a decade running the Horn boutique on Los Angeles’ high-profile fashion street Robertson Boulevard, Susanne Zenker announced May 21 that she took a job as the buyer for the On Sunset designer boutique at Sunset Plaza in Los Angeles.
The On Sunset job is something of a change of plans for Zenker. She intended to take one year off after selling her Robertson lease to eyewear retailer Ilori in November 2007.
On Sunset owner Lauralee Bell said she hopes Zenker will broaden the appeal of her boutique, located at 8711 Sunset Blvd., while keeping the clients who helped build the store. Since debuting at Sunset Plaza in 2004, the store developed a reputation for a merchandise mix featuring elegant pieces from designers such as Roberto Cavalli, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Marithe & Francois Girbaud.
Zenker did not name designers she would bring to On Sunset. At Horn she specialized in a diverse mix that ranged from $5,000 Blumarine gowns to $50 Rebecca Beeson T-shirts. —Andrew Asch
