L.A. Designers Bahama-bound
California may not be an island, but two of our designers, Nick Verreos of Nikolaki and Kevan Hall, were tapped as the featured designers for the first-ever Islands of the World Fashion Week in the Bahamas.
Set to be held Nov. 5–8 at the British Colonial Hilton and the Atlantis Resort, the debut fashion week will also showcase the work of more than 30 established and up-and-coming designers from island countries such as Cuba, Fiji, Jamaica, Madagascar, Indonesia and Haiti. New York–based designer Kenneth Cole will be honored as the recipient of the Humanitarian Designer award.
Verreos, whose Spring 2009 collection will focus on a “cinematic glamour” theme, will write about his experience on his blog.
