O'Neill Clothing to Launch Kids' Collection

O’Neill Clothing USA will debut a collection of surf-inspired apparel for girls ages 2 to 6 for Spring 2009. A division of Irvine, Calif.–based licensee La Jolla Group, O’Neill Clothing already makes juniors and girls’ apparel under the O’Neill label. According to a release, the new little-sister collection will be fun and playful and designed “for parents who covet O’Neill’s full-size creations.”

Sundresses, boardshorts, graphic T-shirts and comfortable pants will feature prominently in the collection.

“Dressing 2- to 6-year-old girls is fun, and with our new collection, even our youngest customer can express her inner surfer,” said Kari Johnson, the company’s vice president of design, in a statement. “Our kids’ collection is designed to bring out the little surf fashionista in all of us and emulates the California beach lifestyle, which O’Neill is known for.”

Targeting core shops, athletic retailers and department stores, O’Neill’s kids’ collection will sell at Sports Chalet, Dillard’s and Jack’s Surfboards. —Erin Barajas
