MBFW Announces L.A. Lineup

Today, organizers of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios released an expanded list of designers showing during the Oct. 12–16 run of shows at Smashbox’s Culver City headquarters.

Some of the usual suspects—including L.A. darling Kevan Hall and Christian Audigier, king of spectacle—are on the updated roster, joining previously announced presentations by Lana Fuchs Couture, Joseph Domingo and Debra Davenport.

Returning designers include Suh-Tahn, Whitley Kros, Ed Hardy, Julia Clancey, Beach Bunny Swimwear, Lauren Conrad Collection and Samora.

Sheiki Jeans, Caroline D’Amore, Tulle Cloth Logic and Amelia Toro are among the designers set to make their MBFW debut.

Event organizers also announced a “green” focus at the shows, citing “sustainable production and eco-friendly design” by some of the participating designers. Confirmed eco-friendly designers include Eco-Ganik and Leila Hafzi.

The Gallery, which last season produced an independent fashion show featuring eco-friendly designers and this August headed up MAGIC Marketplace’s new eco-focused show, will also make a presentation at Smashbox.
