FBI, CFA to Lead Educational Events at GlobalTex Show

Trends, technology and finance are among the issues to be discussed during a busy educational calendar at the GlobalTex textile and sourcing show, set to debut April 28–30 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

At 4:30 p.m. on April 28 and April 29, California Fashion Association Executive Director Ilse Metchek addresses regulatory issues such as CPSIA and importer security filing, also known as 10+2, as well as economic trends during two networking mixers.

Frances Harder, founder of Fashion Business Inc., leads two panels, the first at noon on April 28 during a seminar on using software and technology to cut costs, and then at noon on April 29, when she moderates a panel on “Doing Business in the New Economy.” Ken Wengrod, founder of FTC Commercial Corp., and Debra Stevenson, chief executive officer of Buzzflikr, are scheduled to be on the panel.

Fran and Arnold Sude of Design Options lead two trend seminars on April 28 and April 30, addressing color and lifestyle trends for Spring/Summer 2010. Chris Brandt of The Patricia Brandt Co., Barbra Night of Trends West Los Angeles and Agnes Elisabelar of Espace Textiles also present trend reports throughout the event.
