Splendid: Contemporary Cool
Following in the footsteps of its sister brand, Ella Moss, Splendid, the Los Angeles–based contemporary brand, will expand its offerings by launching a swimwear line for Resort 2010.
Produced by Tustin, Calif.–based swimwear maker Raj Manufacturing, Splendid’s swimwear will be sold as separates and feature the same comfort, style and wearability Splendid is known for, the company said. Key hallmarks of the brand will be high-end fabrications, of-the-moment details and bold colors. Complementary coverups in romper, maxi dress and tunic silhouettes round out Splendid’s swimwear offerings.
“Swimwear was a natural next component for Splendid—as our brand is built around effortless, easy fashion in bright colors and luxe fabrications,” said Moise Emquies, founder and designer of Splendid. “We felt the need to offer our customer options similar to those she prefers on the land for when she steps into the sand.”
Splendid will target retail accounts where the brand is sold, including department stores and boutiques, as well as specialty swimwear stores, expanding the brand’s reach. Wholesale prices for swimwear separates range from $22 to $33, maillots range from $46 to $57 and coverups range from $40 to $65.
