Russell & Ellie Frank

Gerry Building, Suite 703(213) 627-2457

Showroom owners Russell and Ellie Frank ran their eponymous accessories showroom for 26 years in the California Market Center.

In May, the couple relocated to a new 1,200-square-foot space in the Gerry Building.

“The manufacturers were very supportive when I told them I was moving,” Ellie Frank said. “We set this room up, and it looks like magic—the atmosphere feels good!”

The showroom carries collections of handbags, belts and jewelry, many accessorized with Swarovski crystals, which twinkle in the light-filled space.

Among the lines in the Russell & Ellie Frank showroom is Mary Frances handbags, a collection of ornately designed sculptural pieces. Designed in Northern California and made in the Philippines, the purses are wholesale priced between $49 and $120. The limited-edition handbags have a devoted following, according to Ellie Frank, who attended a trunk show organized by a Mary Frances collectors’ club in Nevada, where women showed up to have their Mary Frances handbags signed by the designer.

Other collections include:

bull; Belts by Simon and Cloutier by B.B. Simon are two sister collections based in Southern California. Embellished with Swarovski crystals, the collection features everything from belts and cuffs to dog collars and picture frames. Wholesale prices range from $75 to $600.

bull; Raviani is a Texas-based leather handbag line embellished with Swarovski crystals. The company produces two lines under the same name: the core collection, with wholesale prices from $100 to $240, and a lower-priced line, priced from $79 to $89.

bull; Monies is a Danish jewelry collection that features organic shapes and natural materials, such as shell, mother of pearl and bone. Prices range from $25 for earrings up to $150 for necklaces.

To let their retailers know about the move, the Franks sent out 500 postcards in the days leading up the Los Angeles Fashion Market. “We’re looking forward to a great market,” Ellie Frank said. —Alison A. Nieder
