Tenenbaum in at CPSC

Inez M. Tenenbaum was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the new chair of the Consumer Product Safety Commission. “I am pleased that the Senate has acted quickly to confirm Chairperson Tenenbaum to be the new head of the CPSC,” said American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) President and Chief Executive Officer Kevin M. Burke in a statement. “We can now begin the process of working together to overcome the serious hurdles the U.S. apparel and footwear industry has encountered because of the recently enacted Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act.” The CPSIA mandates strict lead testing for a variety of children’s products, including apparel, shoes and accessories.
