State Stands to Lose More Than 25,000 Jobs

The state stands to lose more than 250,000 jobs by mid-year in 2002, according to a recent study by the Milken Institute, which blamed the job losses on the aftereffects of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Industries likely to be most affected by the job losses are travel, aircraft manufacturing, and radio and TV production, according to the Santa Monica-based research firm.
