Niche Showroom

The New Mart Suite 400 (213) 955-8088

Items that are on-trend or have a multifunctional purpose drive the Niche Showroom in The New Mart. Co-owner Suzie Hart has 15 years of experience working as a national sales manager. She teamed up with Lisa Ozur to launch Niche four years ago, and the duo recently relocated to The New Mart. The showroom roster is led by items from each brand that hit the top trends of the season. “I think customers right now are layering into their wardrobe. They’re not buying full outfits. They’re buying key pieces that make them feel good. That has really worked for us,” Hart said.

Drew’s shrunken and boyfriend blazers and woven-plaid flannel and twill shirts with wholesale price points ranging from $49 to $120 hit the plaid and menswear trends of the season. The new denim line CJ by Cookie Johnson, which is in partnership with Michael Glasser and Joie Rucker of Rich & Skinny jeans, offers fashion denim and of-the-moment boyfriend jeans cut for a “curvier girl.” The versatile New York–based Zoa has both silk date tops that wholesale for $49–$59 and lightweight basics in fresh camisole, racerback and slouchy scoop-neck T-shirt cuts that wholesale for $9–$22. On the dressy side are Bonnie Strauss’ romantic tops that are made from vintage-lace curtains and tablecloths and J Cooper’s East Coast tailored perspective with ski-style pants, trench coats and military-inspired jackets. Knit lines cover every market, including Samantha Dru’s fashion-forward jersey harem pants and jumpsuits, Cris Los Angeles’ line of sophisticated cashmere cardigans, and “California sweats line” Ankh Royalty. Adding a boutique lifestyle aspect to the showroom are accessories lines such as blinged-out candle line Aglow, Lenni Navarro jewelry, DL Rhein jewelry and accessories, and Twigs jewelry and handmade frames. —Rhea Cortado
