Colombian Companies Added to Material World Roster

A contingent of textile and apparel factory representatives from Colombia has been added to the lineup at the Material World & Technology Solutions fabric and sourcing show April 21–23 at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami Beach, Fla.

Mark Fast S.A., Finotex and Lafayette will be among the companies based in the Colombia Pavilion and will showcase their high-tech fabric production, contract manufacturing and brand identification services.

Contracting in Colombia has become more attractive because of duty-free treaties affecting trade between Colombia and the United States, said Tim von Gal, partner of show producer Urban Expositions.

The Colombia exhibit is sponsored by ProExport Colombia.

Lafayette (www.telaslafayette.com), is a privately owned, vertically integrated textile company with more than 60 years of experience. It is known for its product development and production of performance woven and knitted fabrics with special finishes that have appealed to the activewear and uniforms marketplace.

Finotex (www.finotex.com) has diversified into an all-in-one supplier of brand-identification solutions including: woven and printed labels, jacquard ribbons, thermal-printing solutions, heat transfers, paper products, eco-friendly products and anti-counterfeit solutions.

Mark Fast (www.marqfast.com) specializes in high-quality woven labels, printing labels and tags to complement and enhance brand identity. The company’s latest product is LabelFree, a series of heat-transfer labels.

In addition to the Colombia Pavilion, other regions and countries participating in the upcoming Material World Miami Beach will include China, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Korea, Pakistan and Taiwan.

Material World will also highlight six new focus categories, including MW Fabric & Trim, MW Source, MW Equip, MW Delivers, MW Performance and MW Green. For more information, visit www.material-world.com. —Robert McAllister
