Destination Shopping at 824 Building

Showrooms at the 824 Building, located at 824 S. Los Angeles St., saw little foot traffic from new buyers during the March 20–23 run of the Los Angeles Fashion Market. However, many said the key buyers who attended were returning stores ready to do business. Jacqueline Lee Rose of the Rose Showroom focused on working with stores that already carry her lines—including Rebecca Thompson, Gina Kim and Lazybones from Australia—rather than opening new store accounts. Rose met with local accounts Camille DePedrini in South Pasadena, Calif., and Matti D in Del Mar, Calif. Alfred Davis and Timothy Padilla opened the new showroom T and A, focused on selling men’s lines including Flyer and Bobbin, Buffalo David Bitton, Spindle & Canister, Future Heretics and Lifetime Collective. Davis met with buyers from Revolveclothing.com, The Closet stores in Southern California, AB Fits in San Francisco and Glory in Los Angeles. Padilla said many buyers requested goods that were made in the United States, which generally have lower shipping costs and are less likely to be late. —Rhea Cortado
