On Board at Gap

Bill Fisher, the son of Gap Inc. founders Don and Doris Fisher, has joined the board of directors of the San Francisco apparel company, whose labels are Old Navy, Banana Republic and Gap. He fills the vacancy left when his father passed away in September. Other family members on the board are his brother, Bob, as well as his mother, an honorary lifetime member. Bill started working for the company in 1984 as a Banana Republic store manager. Four years later, he joined the Gap brand and created the international division, opening stores in the United Kingdom, Canada, France and Japan. He left the company in 1998 to found the private equity fund Manzanita Capital in San Francisco.
