Dinner at Galina's

Dinner is served

We recently scored an invitation to a private party hosted by Galina Sobolov, founder and designer of the Single label. Fashion Editor N. Jayne Seward, Manufacturing Editor Erin Barajas and I headed into the hills to dine with Galina and a few of her friends.

Once there, we took in the fantastic Hollywood view from the patio of Galina’s Mount Olympus home.

Galina’s husband and business partner, Michael, played bartender (and later, the gorgeous Steinway in the living room).

Over a fantastic dinner prepared by Greg and Adeline DeMichiel, owners of Maison Catering, we caught up on the latest news about Single.

Over the summer, the beautiful Galleries Lafayette department store in Paris opened a 10’-by-12’ in-store shop dedicated to the L.A. label. (You can see pictures from the store here).

Apparently, Galina was also busy this summer filming Bravo’s next fashion reality show, Launch My Line, which premieres Dec. 2. Galina—always gracious and chatty—can’t dish on the details, but we did learn that she is one of the industry experts paired with fashion novices on the show. (You can read more about the show in Erin’s blog post here.)

And on Dec. 3, a Barbie-inspired design by Single will bow at the kickoff party for this year's Divine Design shopping fund-raiser for Project Angel Food.

In all, our dinner at Galina’s was a lovely evening. I’ll leave you with more photos from the dinner and one of the steamy pics from Single’s latest lookbook.
