Vanity Stores’ Cotton Project
New York–based retail chain Vanity Inc. collected more than 100,000 pairs of jeans for Cotton Inc.’s “Cotton. From Blue to Green” denim recycling program. The jeans will be converted into UltraTouch, a natural cotton fiber insulation, which will be used “to aid communities in need,” according to Cotton Inc. Vanity hosted the denim drive from Sept. 16 to Nov. 3 in all 200 Vanity stores. It takes 500 pairs of denim to create enough UltraTouch for one home.
