Lee's Denim Day Raises Millions for Breast Cancer

Approximately 800,000 people donned a pair of jeans and donated a minimum of $5 to the fight against breast cancer on Oct. 2 for Lee Jeans’ National Denim Day event.

The event, one of the largest single-day fund-raisers for breast cancer, raised an estimated $4 million to $5 million for breast-cancer research. The Entertainment Industry Foundation, a charitable organization, will fund its Women’s Cancer Programs with money raised during National Denim Day. In its 14-year history, the EIF has helped raise nearly $80 million for health, education and social issues.

Lee, a division of VF Corp., will continue to raise funds for breast-cancer research online at www.denimday.com.
