Falling Revenues

Los Angeles–based People’s Liberation—whose brands include William Rast, People’s Liberation and J. Lindeberg in the United States—reported that its second-quarter revenues for 2010 were down 31.2 percent to $6.8 million. The revenue decline was due primarily to a dispute with Charlotte Russe stores, which had a deal to exclusively carry People’s Liberation but then stopped stocking the brand. People’s Liberation had a second-quarter net loss of approximately $500,000, compared to an $800,000 profit during the same period last year. Chief Executive Colin Dyne said the company is concentrating on building up its chain of William Rast and J. Lindeberg stores. There are now four William Rast stores and three J. Lindeberg stores.
