Washed Out

The recent devastating floods in Pakistan have washed away about 20 percent of the country’s cotton crop. The damage to the cotton crop in recent floods in Punjab and Sindh is estimated to be 2 million bales. With a lack of cotton, the country’s major textile industry, which makes up 60 percent of Pakistan’s exports, is expected to be greatly affected.
