Delta Acquires Digital Printing Co.

Delta Apparel Inc., owner of the Junkfood Clothing brand, signed a letter of intent to acquire substantially all of the assets of digital printer Art Gun Technologies Inc. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in early 2009, South Florida–based Art Gun Technologies has offered the Design a Tee Studio, which allows consumers to custom design their own T-shirts using Art Gun’s “Virtual Art Studio” to select styles, colors and graphics for their garments. Art Gun’s software can also be integrated into a retailer’s e-commerce platform, allowing the retailer to offer custom designs while Art Gun manages the process, from design to printing to shipping.

“Art Gun dovetails with our existing operations and provides us with a direct entreacute;e into what we believe is a $1 billion customized-apparel market,” said Robert W. Humphreys, chairman and chief executive officer of Delta Apparel. “At the same time, Art Gun brings with it exciting technology, expertise in digital printing and a strong management team that we believe provides new growth opportunities for Delta Apparel Inc.”—Alison A.
